Submitting Your Book
We prefer email submissions. Please don’t use the telephone to pitch your book. Remember: we want to know how well you can write.
- Visit our Perspective page and read about the type of books we’re looking for.
- Make sure the writing is structurally sound. It won’t matter how great the story is if we can’t get past the grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes.
- Send the first three chapters as an attachment in Microsoft Word (.doc) or text (.txt) format.
- Double-space the manuscript. Use one-inch margins and place page numbers in the header. Please, no decorative fonts or graphics.
- In your email give us a brief description of your book. Yes, include the ending. No, we won’t steal your idea. Be concise, and make sure you include any applicable publishing credits. Give us a little backstory and convince us that your book is worth publishing.
- If your book proposal includes photographs or artwork, let us know in your email that they are available upon request. DO NOT, under any circumstance, send us unsolicited photos or art scans by email.
We’ll do our best to respond within a week. If we like your sample we’ll contact you by email for the remainder of the book.
